Airbus Industrie was created as a
consortium of European aviation companies during 1967 when British, French
and German governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop
the first Airbus airliner the Airbus A300. Today Airbus has grown until
it is the World's second largest airliner producer. The Airbus A340 is powered by four engines and is
a twin aisle aircraft seating between 261 and 440 passengers. The Airbus A340 first
took to the air on the 25th October 1991.

formed in 1946 by Roy Farrell and Sydney de Kantzow in China, in 1959 it acquired Hong Kong Airways. In 1988 Cathay Pacific became a
