Airbus Industrie was formed as a
consortium of European aviation firms in 1967 when British, French and
German governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the
first Airbus airliner the Airbus A300. Today Airbus and Boeing dominate
the Worlds airliner production. The
Airbus A320 is a twin engined, single aisle airliner seating 180
passengers, the aircraft first flew on the 22nd of February 1987.

Aero Ltd, after WW2 the Finnish government acquired a majority share in
the company and made it the new national airline. Finnair joined the Oneworld alliance
in 1999. The Finnair airliner fleet currently consists of
Airbus, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas and Embraer commercial airliners.
